Stoneleigh physiotherapist to support Team GB at World Games

Stoneleigh physiotherapist to support Team GB at World Games

Louise Curley

A Warwickshire physiotherapist is preparing to support Team GB on the world stage later this month.

Louise Curley, who runs Rejuven8 Physiotherapy Clinic based at Stoneleigh Park, will travel with Team GB Gymnastics as the team’s physiotherapist for the World Games in Poland.

The World Games take place in Wroclaw from Thursday, July 20 to Sunday, July 30 and will be the 10th games –which are held every four years, in the year following the Olympic Games.

Louise runs a performing arts medicine clinic in London and in 2016 decided to set up her own physiotherapy clinic at Stoneleigh Park, which specialises in musculoskeletal, sports and performing arts physio.

She will take on the role of British Gymnastics Delegation Physiotherapist, treating existing issues and looking after any acute injuries sustained at the games.

Louise said:

It is a privilege to be selected for such a high-profile event and to be working with Britain’s finest gymnasts.
I have been fortunate enough to have worked as a physio for British Gymnastics at multiple European and world championships previously and I am excited to return to the World Games which is a multi-sport event and has an electric atmosphere.
I will miss being away from my practice, however travelling with British Gymnastics offers an array of challenges and the opportunity to work alongside some of the world’s finest physiotherapists.
British Gymnastics as a whole is going from strength to strength and it is a very talented team that is travelling to the World Games. I wish all athletes the very best of luck and hope they all perform to their best.

Louise was also selected four years ago to support the British gymnastics team for the World Games in Cali, Columbia, where they secured an impressive medal haul of three gold, three silver and one bronze.

This year’s World Games will involve a total of more than 30 sporting disciplines ranging from water, aerial and team sports.

Colin Hooper, estates director at Stoneleigh Park, said:

It is fantastic to have someone as distinguished as Louise is in her discipline here at Stoneleigh Park.
We wish Louise and all of the British gymnastics team the best of luck over at this year’s games in Poland.
